A-Kon 21: Holy Crap Players Everywhere
Monday, 07 June 2010

Sometimes our estimates on conventions are dead on.  Sometimes things we think that were going to be awesome end up being terrible.  And then there's A-Kon.

I don't know what my director, Woosh, was thinking, but I wasn't hugely optimistic about A-Kon to be perfectly honest.   Tabletop gaming has never really been it's strong point, despite attempts to the contrary.  So what happens this weekend?  We scheduled for around 15 - 20 games.  We ran 41.

Wut.

That means that easily, easily double the number of people we were expecting followed our every footstep, came looking for a game, or wandered into the wrong game and got ambushed into playing.  And that's AWESOME!  Seriously guys, my GMs are exhausted and might throw things at me for saying this, but thanks to you all and your crushing desire to play more we had an awesome time at the convention.  As an added bonus, PtME has now been invited back for the next two years.  If you've got your calendar, put it down and show back up again!  If you don't, go to the store, buy a calendar, and then come see us again next year.

In the mean time, there's artists to be propositioned, books to be sold, and dollars to be made.  There's a lot more to be said, but I'll have to hit Justin to get him to make the posts and/or make them tomorrow.  Until then

Who lets me set timeframes?
Monday, 12 April 2010

So, it's a little later than I originally envisioned.  MidCons are pretty good at getting in the way of all our well-laid plans.  Speaking of, MidCon more of less went off without a hitch.  The announcement for the next one is up in the forums, which you can find here.

In convention news, our summer schedule is pretty well set, with much of it up on our Facebook page.  If you call May summer, then we start with a trip into Fort Worth to Texicon 1 , a new gaming convention set up by Karl and Kevin, along with many of the gaming old guard in the region.  We're really excited about the possibilities this convention presents, like actually going to a gaming convention where we get to really show off.  That's the hope anyway.  Anyway, Texicon is May 21 - 23, so come show your support for north Texas gaming.  Space is really limited, so if you're interested pre-registering is advised.

Oh yeah, we have a Facebook page!  Follow PtME on Facebook through our official page and the group, set up by Justin.  We've had a couple of false starts on this before, but he's the man with the plan and has all sorts of cool ides coming up.  And, beyond that, we have a Twitter stream.  Follow us @PtMEProductions for live updates from conventions, MidCons, and to get the latest, I'm-screaming-at-the-computer updates on your Updates and other projects.  It's a little sparce right now, I know, but we're working on it.  Getting us to shut up once we start talking is the problem.

Anything else?  Oh, right, one last thing.

Due May 10

Hey, where'd my website go?
Tuesday, 06 April 2010

So, as many of you noted yesterday evening (and I appreciate the warnings), our little home here on the internet fell off said internet for a while.  For those wondering why that was, apparently our hosting company decided it would be better to shut off everything associated with our server than to let a hacker get in through an old WordPress account associated with it.  Better safe than sorry, I guess?

Anyway, man, guys, so much stuff going on right now.  No time to explain just at this moment, but expect another update from me later today or tomorrow at the latest.

Casses out.

Tribute will be used to fund furture and very, very near-term projects that will allow us to expand our worlds, and bring others into the land of hard copies. First on our agenda: a series of comic books centered around Miracle Girl and her place in Legacy Crossing.

Contributing has its perks. They are not all finalized yet, but ideas include signed first editions, spots in alpha tests of new games, invitations to canon games (whereby YOUR character can join the ranks of Chapel-One, Eldor, and other, as-of-yet unnamed characters-to-come), and a few other ideas we've got rolling around.

For more information on Tribute, see jdFritz's forum post here.
